I totally agree with you Will. Because of mainly the security issue no one wants to go to Haiti including the Haitian diaspora.

I like your ideas because you are coming up with ACTUAL solutions.

It is good to present a problem but you also have to present a solution.

I will also add that a kidnapping task force should also be implemented within the police force of Haiti.

Kidnappers always make a call for ransom and always have a money drop location.

The phone calls should be traced and the money drop should be covered by police.

Once caught, the kidnappers should be severely punished to discourage future kidnappers.

Who wants to go to a country where there is 50% chance of being kidnapped?

As far as tourism is concerned, Haiti should promote "pockets" of tourism for now since Port-au-Prince is unsafe.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines go to Labadie.

That is good. Haiti should continue to improve Labadie by rehabbing the roads to Citadel for excursions and improving on the city of Cape-Haitien.

Haiti should be looking at building hotels on/near Labadie.

Tortuga and Ile a Vache (Port-Morgan) islands should also be developed.

The government of Haiti does not necessarily need to put out their own money.

All they have to do is invite airlines, hotel and resort companies to invest in the country.

Give them incentives to come. American Airlines has been in Haiti for years.

They should have modernized the Port-au-Prince airport and built a new airport in Cape-Haitien for Haiti.

That is what airlines do. But you have to approach the airlines and request it to be done. I believe the Haitian government does not have the competence and lack of representation to do that.
