Good progress Mr. President and a question?

< Previous | Home | Next >

Mr. President,

We pray and teach others there responsibility to pray for you and all leaders of the government, cabinet, advisers, etc that you would have wisdom to know what to do and the steps to take. we also pray you would know who to surround yourself with. Stay strong Mr. President.

1 Timothy 2:1-7
2:1 Pray for All Men
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,

7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle -- I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying -- a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

Those who have done entrpenurail things or established business or done things from the ground up know things will take time in Haiti.

Lets hope the others will have help with their patience.

For me as one who comes to Haiti regularly with my meagers means to try to lift up someone, I hope you can continue to make progress with security.

A thought comes to mind on the security after the recent students causing unrest in the name of putting out the MINUSHTA - this would be a grave mistake.

I do not think it is fair to have the rules of engagement when people are trying to kill you almost daily are fair for the MINUSHTA either. Are we making progress in Cite Soleil?

Gansters can cause crime anyplace in the city or countryside, but lets consider how many times the trouble is in Cite Soleil - too many?

what is the answer?

For my mind I would say law enforcement, but for now it has to be assisted, and for how long we do not know, and the trouble makers that jeopardize all haitians, jeopardize the lifes of those who come to help, jeopardize fututre business investments and job creations and a building of the tourist trade in the country.

So I wonder if anyone can find more wisdom and sound steps to cure this disease that eats all of Haitian people.

These trouble makers do not respect the civil laws, civil authorities and have a heart full of rebellion - some will never change and they continue to lead the rebellious ways - THIS IS WHAT CIVIL AUTHORITIES AND CIVIL GOVERNEMENTS ARE TO DO ALSO AS PART OF THEIR MINISTRY TO PEOPLE...

Romans 13:1-7
13:1 Submit to Government
Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities.

For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority?

Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.

4 For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

5 Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience' sake.

6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing.

7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

Mr. President i saw a news article and question its truth and if there is some plan in the making I would ask for great caution.

The article said something about the government wanting to take over all NGO's and tell them what to do.

On the face value I would have to think this cannot be true. But it does sound like a mentality that has been attempted against us and out non-profit by haitian decent both here in america and a takeover of our mission house and equipment, etc by a haiaitan family, and they dragged us to court, etc...we saw the corrupt judges first hand but got to the governemnet judge and the laws of Haiti were upheld and we were protected.

Thats how Haiti has to work. when one sees the laws of haiti and invests in Haiti they need to know the 'rules of the game' - the laws of haiti have to be the rules of the game and have to be upheld equally to all people.

If the government goes with a law - to take over the ngo's this will be a big, big problem.

several reasons are iot smacks of corruption and how would it be policed against corruption.

Another is, the materials were not given to the Haitian governemnt, they were given to accomplish a task and in lets say the''mood'' of the director they gave to, not soemthing else. Another reason thise could be a problem /trouble is, as far as this country u.s.a. there are restrictions of law that funds given a ngo or non-profit for a sepcific task must be used for that task - this is FEDERAL law, and a haitian tkeover of NGO can put american ngo's subject to federal fraud laws.

Further almost all grant organizations for the smaller non governmental projests want to give funds to the american based ngo's that work in these foreign fields for management reasons.

Although there are educated people in haiti many have ''no experience' and then I wonder what the students learn now in higher education?

great ideological pie in the sky?

or how to serve their fellow man and their country with there education.

They come from the scholl full of pride - pride can be used for good or destruction..

Mr. president be careful if you intend to do anything around this area - if anything streamline the process for these helpers of haitit to get there goods from the Ports without having them rifled through and stolen.

If anything get the corruption out of the Ports with everyone holding there hand out for side monies.

Publish and enforce what is to happen in each case for imports to help the people.

we prefer a strictly managed consitent operation, to know exact what is or will be due BEFORE we send the thing into the country.

It seems to me the Ports should be the place for a consistent tax base in the one manner.

I hear taxes are being collected again - this is good for haiti and the haitian people.

You are off to a good start Mr. President, it seems you have some good counsel around you very able people.

Watch out for the selfish ambitious ones.

Our prayers and support are with you.
