Hey Rubens;
I think you were talking about the list of books I posted for our young friend, but I'm not sure since your reply was posted it under a blog that XYZ is engaged in with someone else.

If you were talking about my list, and you have read those books, perhaps we could work together...but doing what?

Maybe another Haitian organization that really has no national impact, but has members who go around boasting about having created an organization?

Or maybe we can be those people that work with the UN and get real comfortable pretending that we're making a difference, but in reality are doing nothing of substance to help the nation...instead, of course are helping our own pockets...actually those people's work are all about keeping the Haitian people begging with their little charity cups.

Maybe we could start getting really rich by creating our own NGO and pretend that we are actually using all the good money we get to help the poor.

I DON'T THINK SO. Unless someone shows me a real, and here's that word again, CONCRETE way that I can contribute to helping the Haitian people eat sleep and educate themselves--without charity--I don't want to hear about working together.

So Rubens, thanks but no thanks.

But it was great to hear that someone else had read some of my favorites books.
