109 countries or so allow dual citizenship because the politicians were smart enough not to alienate their brothers and sisters and thus capitalize on the strength of their diaspora to fortify the native land. Here is a example, very simple:
According to the U.S. Social Security Administration the average payment based on 2008 figures, a retired person (including Haitian living in the USA) will get $1,664.00 a month.

Remember it is an estimate or average.

If 500 naturalized Haitian couples with dual citizenships, their rights (political and social) are recognized and respected in Haiti, decide to retire in Haiti.

Let us spread them around the country, be 50 couples by department.

Fortunately for us, Haiti is on the list of the countries where the US government will direct deposit the monthly checks.

With 500 naturalized Haitians couples, there is an estimated $1,664.000 every month being sent in Haiti.

We can say with complete certainty and no exageration that each couple will hire two people (a maid & a gardener) which means 1000 people finding work and making money to take care of their families.

What has the government done so far in this scenario, nothing?

The 500 Haitian Couples will buy land, built houses, and contribute to the country's economy.

Only 500, and we have thousands outside of the country.

You see, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out and that the reason why "smart" countries used their diaspora and confered to them dual citizenship.

Do you know also that the Haitians in America, according to Frantz Bougert, a well respected Haitian Accountant, have an estimated $220 Billions in their 401 (k) or retirement account.

Imagine they take 20, 25 % of this money and invest it in Haiti because they can own and enjoy their birthday rights as citizens of Haiti?

Begging the International Community will be a thing of the past. I prefer to be a traitor in the eyes of some and help my country.
