We have a democracy not an autocracy

And we wonder why elected leaders do the things they do in Haiti.

It's because we expect them to be autocratic leaders not democratic.

No wonder they murder innoncent people, they steal, violate the constitution and don't ever get anything done. We give them unlimited power and control over the people.

They answer to no one. POUVWA SE BYEN PAPA YO LI YE. Now i understand why so many of you have fervently denied the guilts of past leaders.

It's not that they committed no crimes; it's because we think it's ok for them to commit crimes and not face any repercussion.

Everybody should be concern and upset if an elected oficial or anyone is roughed up by the police, but the first question we should be asking is what happened.

Why and how did it come to this. We should be calling for a formal investigatition.

Who's to say the deputy was not at fault.

Politicians aren't gods they make mistake.

It's time we stop viewing them as holy creature incapable of wrongdoing.

Take them down the high pedestal.

A lot of these politicians don't even have the necessary skills and knowledge needed to be senators or deputies.

They don't know the first thing about being a lawmaker.

Once elected they think their gods among men. Everybody should just bend over, it's unthinkable to assume they might ever be wrong.

I'm not defending the officers.

Police brutality is a serious thing that we must never tolerate.

The officers should suffer a severe consequence if they acted inappropriately.

But we can't shoot first and ask questions later.

We should follow proper procedures to get to the bottom of the situation.

In a true democracy no one of the three branches of government is more powerful or important.

All three branches balance each other out. Think twice before you make a deal with the devil.
