Solving the deforestation problem in Haiti calls for no magic and no help from any rocket scientist.
It is as simple as drinking a glass of water or eating a piece of chicken wing.
This is the last time that I would ever say anything about this issue again because I have been talking about it for a longtime now.
I will make it my cruisade to encourage Haitians to cut down the very last tree in Haiti if I hear anymore airhead, brain dead, deranged person calling to sanction the people for cutting down trees.
By calling on the government to sanction the people for cutting down trees, you are calling for the extermination of the people to starve to death and you'll be happy because you're living the good life abroad.
Remember the haitian proverb "zafe mouton pa zafe kabrit."
People need to understand that Haiti is the only country on the planet that is still using the primitive and the stone age era technology like for example cooking on 3 stones using dry wood or charcoal, and using lamp tet gridap, bwapen and chandel for light because there is no electricity.
People don't cut down the trees because they are illeterate, dumb and stupid, but they so because this is the only form of conbustible provided to them in order to cook so they can feed their families and make charcoal so they can sell in order to make a buck so they can buy yon ti bout yam.
Haitian governments, past and present, are okay with that since they refuse to provide opportunities to better the life of their people.
The government is very comfortable with people cutting down the trees.
THE SOLUTION:
Progressive and competent governments never ban an old practice without first providing an alternative, a new practice to the people.
To stop the people from cutting down the trees, the government most first provide an alternative of combustible to the people, a new effective way to prepare their meals.
My Idea: Anyone who travels to the islands in the caribbean knows that these people use "kerosine stoves", which is very safe, user friendly and very effective.
These stoves come with one burner, 2 burners, 3 burners and 4 burners as well. One gallon of kerosine can last a whole week depend on how much cooking you do.
I have suggested that the government negotiates with some of these companies to produce so many of these stoves per month or per year. The incompetence and mediocre Haitian government would subsidize the stoves for the low income families and to families with no incomes.
For example, if a stove costs $100, the government would pay let say $75 and the family pays only $25.
By using this strategy, I guarantee you that you would see a big difference in Haiti's environment in one and half year.
There is no other more practical and effective alternative to solve the deforestation problem in Haiti than this one that I just suggested.
