The signs of tiranny

< Previous | Home | Next >

I find it fascinating that anyone can think that a "national" (not a local) issue of sanitation should not concern a nation's leader, or at least its Think Tank (those in charge of finding solution to problems plaguing the nation).

A "national" sanitation issue affects the whole nation's ability to gain revenue, hence, is a major crisis that must be dealt with by those in charge of the "national" well being.

I also wonder at the arrogance of anyone who feels so royal as to dictate to people all over the world who use this blog what they should or should not write about on this "public" forum.

One might make suggestions to another individual about what they've writen, but to tell the people not to write the president about thei personal problem is actually a sign of someone's extreme arrogance.

Lastly, it seems to me (and probably to anyone who is used to how these sites work) that if the President ever really reads any posts from this blog they would be the posts that are left after a series of filtration processes had been done by his many assistants.

Hence, we can safely assume that what the President does read may not really be the most interesting blogs, nor the most challenging.

He may never see what some of us might think are stupid or fascinating postings; what the President reads is only what those who are in charge of reading these posts want him to read.

So, assuming one of his assistants wants to get a quick promotion, showing him the flattering posts would be a sure way to get that done. On the other hand, another assistant whose agenda was to support another candidate would most likely show the president all the negative post. This would be his/her way of trying to undermine the President.

So the fact is that those of us--from all over the world--who write on this blog really write for each other and as a form of therapy for our inability to really help the country.

People who try to limit our discussions really have no clue about using a blog, nor do they understand anything about the concept of freedom of speech, which is what a blog is specifically about.

Furthermore, repressing free discussion is tyranny and has no place on any Internet blog. Perhaps individuals wishing to suppress freedom of expression should go share their opinion with the dead Duvalier who was an expert at suppression of all individual thought.

There is real weakness in any individual or government who can't handle healthy criticism.
