Tiba, I think you and I would get along very well, I'd like the chance to buy you a drink and chat! People who think that they can change a person or culture through a simple religious conversion are deluding themselves and they are just as dangerous in California or Connecticut as the are in Haiti.

I also agree that the people of Haiti can't be lifted to their full potential only thru charity, they'll have to lift themselves in their own way and with their own hands.

If you'll pardon the metaphor, it's not unlike raising a child: if you do all their homework for them out of kindness they'll never be able to do it themselves, however if all you do is dump school books in their bedroom with no structure or guidance they're unlikely to read them all and understand.

A balance must be struck and constantly sdjusted - and it's never simple or easy. I only hope for the best for you and all your countrymen & women, and if I can assist in small appropriate ways, I hope to do so. Good luck to you, Tiba, and lets all pray for Haiti.
