Clay Cook- I am not trying to poke you in the eye, and therefore, please don't take it as a personal attack.

I understand your genuine concerns for the kids at City of God, and I applaud you for that.

But you asked me to "Be careful not to judge the intentions of those of us who have chosen to visit you country and found beauty in the people there."

Clay, I do understand there is a flood of differences in foreigners who have chosen to visit Haiti in the name of missionary work. I do realize some groups have a well detailed agenda, which is the conversion of the Haitian people from catholicism to their faith and religion using any mean necessary.

There are also other groups that chose to go down there with a genuine desire to help trying to make a difference in people's lives the best way they can without any preconditions, and perhaps that's is the kind of groups you fall in.

I have flown American Airline many times down to Haiti with the groups whose agenda is conversion, and I'd tell you these people are the most obnoxious, arrongant, and manipulated people you wouldn't never want to meet.

I got in a heated argument with a member of those groups one time at the airport while waiting to board the plane to Haiti.

She went to Haiti twice before and she thought that she was an expert on Haiti's affairs.

And worst, she thought that she knew Haiti much better than me who was born there and grew up there.

I am very comfortable to say that these people constitute a real danger to Haiti.

Clay, here's what I think.

I do believe that if these missionaries really care about Haiti, really want to help Haiti, they would know that charity leads no contry to prosperity and opportinuties.

They would better help Haiti by pressuring the US government to lift all the economic embargoes imposed on Haiti for decades, to forgive Haiti's debts, and pressure US government to take Haiti out of isolation/alienation by opening its door to trade with Haiti and encourage investments in Haiti so that Haitian people could get jobs to feed their families like we do in the United States, in Europe, in Asia, and around the world.

The Haitian people cannot live in charity and expect them to live a better life. The understanding of these missionaries is that if Haitian people's life gets better that could and would put them out of business, I guess.

They would not have that many souls left to bring salvation to.
