My friend I totally agree with you. The constitution needs to be amended.

We shouldn't be afraid of change, we shouldn't let the fear of what happened in the past stop us from making the necessary improvements to the constitution; specially improvements that will help the country progess.

In 1987 the constitution barred consecutive terms.

It was appropriate then, but we live in a different time now. What worked then isn't working now. A president should be allowed to serve two consecutive terms no more than that. If the constitution is amended while Mr. Preval is in office he should be prohibited from seeking another term because he has already serve a first term. Another thing is that, the constitution should grant dual citizenships to haitians who hold other citizenships.

Finally when amending the constitution we should follow legal procedures established by the 1987 constitution.
