Dear Tiba,

The worst that 20th centry foriegners did to Haiti was not the 1990's, but the 1920's and 1930's when Woodrow Wilson invaded Haiti and imposed a US military government with puppet Haitian presidents and congress, and for many years after mistreated the Haitian people.

I personally think Clinton should not have intervened in Haiti, even though he personally probably meant well.

In fairness to investors, it is dangerous to invest in places without stable government.

I do however know that some garment factories were started in Haiti because I have seen such, and the Haitian workers made good quality products.

Haiti still produces good quality food- I ate some of it when I was there.

But if the soil and woods are not protected the harvests will become less and less. Progress comes from doing what we should do, not from ignoring problems and perils.

I served under a Haitian medical director, Dr. Abner, who did not abandone Haiti and whom I admire personally and professionally.

I met Haitian pastors and people who worked hard to help us foriegn health professionals meet the needs of the sungry, home, horribly injured, and ill victims of the earthquake.

I watched the mass demonstrations of godly people the weekend of Feb. 12-14 in front of the ruins of the president's palace, pleading with God for your country.

I do not believe God has forgotten Haiti, nor will He ignore them.

I Corinthians 3:9 says that we can God's fellow workers to do great things for other people.

You at least have not abandoned your country or your people.

You have drive to make Haiti better.

Seek Jesus to multiply all the good that your seek to do.
