Thats so sad, i didnt realise.

I know there are many unscrupulous developers that would act exactly like this, so I get the worry.

It's a real catch 22 isnt it, because without the huge influx of finance from abroad, how does the ball start to roll?

It also needs a government that will look after the interests of the people otherwise it will be too easy to open the pockets of the easily-tempted for contracts that benefit no one in the local community.

Haiti has so much to offer, it could be on the cusp of being the next big thing very easily and resetting its course back to the most lucrative and productive island in the Caribbean and even the world, as it has been in history - it wouldn't take a great leap of imagination to see it right back up there...

One could see within a generation a complete revival in its fortunes and areal change round in direction that will change the lives of Haitian children as they grow up in a totally different environment, really given a chance to live proud in their beautiful country.
