Actually, traveling to Haiti was very popular in the 60's. They even wrote a song about it in the US. I was shocked! I was watching an old black & white movie on the classic channels on cable and you know the typical woman with the fruit basket on her head and the big loop earrings.

They had a musical where they were singing to it and when I actually listened to the words, they were talking about Haiti and how beautiful etc....

By the way you're talking, you must be under 30 years old. There was a time when Haiti was attractive to tourists and was a very very beautiful country.

It's definitely been more than 20 years though.

I think it's more like 40 years.

Sad to say, but more realistic.
