I am always so amazed at how fair you try to be, regardless of the situation.

I hope one day the country can benefit from more people like you.
Re. "la poule aux oeufs d'or;" it translates to "the goose that laid the golden egg." But you know, I do speak and write French, so I got your meaning.

Re. "les pots-de-vin." Think about what that means at the national level.

It translates to people so greedy that they traded the national welfare for some pots of wine. It is times like these when I feel a real physical pain in my heart, and it is all that I can do not to think in violent terms.

But violence is also what we've had enough off in that little country.
