Yes, we do but the Haitians are not chasing away the private sector.

They're just demanding better wages from the private sector, a re-investment of some of the profits back into Haiti's economy.

(The wireless companies are not leaving).

The private sector never had a cohesive development plan, the private sector is not a job creator; most of the private sector is made of wholesale-retail businesses.

The private sector is concentrated in Port-au-Prince.

By self-destruction I assume you mean " the politics of squalor".

Frankly, the climate of insecurity existed since the first black slaves arrived in Haiti.

The climate of insecurity a direct consequence of the political instability is a matter of outside influence more than internal strife.

For some mysterious reason, Haiti never attracted the kind of major foreign investments that would be very beneficial to its future although both Haiti & the Dominican Republic were under US occupation at the same time in 1916-1924.

(All the investments went to D.R. or Panama).

Is it because Haiti is 90% black?

Kidnapping is not new in Haiti although new to this generation.

Does the private sector intend to help the Haitian people feed itself, educate itself?

If yes, then the private sector has nothing to worry about.

If not, your guess is as good as mine.
We need a private sector with a new vision for its country.
