Security is not enough

< Previous | Home | Next >

Nobody can deny that there has been a substantial improvement in the security situation in Haiti.

Whether that improvement remains permanent is another question.

However, we have to notice that improvement in security, although a good starting point, is not enough to change the situation in Haiti.

The single fundamental factor to improve life in Haiti is job creation.

Not enough has been done in this aspect. The government needs to work with the private sector, the haitian diaspora and foreign investors to create more jobs in the country.

It is sad to see so many people going through life, having nothing to do.
As a country, we need to change that. We need between a hundred thousand and five hundred thousand jobs to see significant improvements in the haitian lifestyle.

How many jobs have been created so far?
