Dear Konfreres

We have accepted the system of our detractors.

This also divided us because of the political parties and refused to accept the results of the practice of democracy if they fail to gain power for themselves.

They resort to violence thus destabilizing and weakening the country, our country, their country.

We are ineffective whereas our human resources, because we have interpreted or failed to abide by the correct teaching of "Togetherness", or done the wrong things.

This is what comes from the superficial interpretation of the "Togetherness, stressing not the substance of the Jesus' teaching and the togetherness, but rather the form, the manner and the means used by our oppressors.

In addition, it is the same since yesterday with the philosophies of 1957 and 1990.
We are more concerned with the forms rather than the substance of the words of our ancestors: Togetherness" (Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity), and adhering only to the literal interpretation of the traditions of others.

We may want to recreate an other 1804, the way of life of the past, "Pearl of Antilles", in order to practice what we think to be the truth.

We will not be allowed to do so. Our detractors and enemies will take advantage of the resulting backwardness and weakness in order to dominate us. Togetherness is not just for 1804, but is for all times, and times have changed.

Whether we like it or not, we have to change, not by changing our "Togetherness", but by applying this in the context of a Haiti that is different from that of Yesterday (National Unity or Family Lavalas).

Togetherness is not wrong, but the interpretation by our leaders, though they may be very learned have been wrong.
