my mother has always warned me not to eat anything from street vendors specially in Haiti.

They have a bad habit of washing the griot get this with toilet water: "de l'eau de bouboune" because they think it will bring them luck. Talking about an AIDS risk. I hope I did not mess up your lunch.

You are right they should be regulated.

The only thing those government officials are doing is paying themselves (14months salary) for a job not well done or if they do anything at all. The last time I ate some Labapin in Haiti I had diarrhea, that can really take the joy out of a vacation in Haiti.
