I do not think criminals should be forgiven and forgotten.

However, their crime must be proven, and they must be convicted-hence the rule of law. Aristide and Jean Claude should be allowed to return home and face the music, if any.

Nonetheless, Presidents have a right to pardon citizens should their action be in the best interest of the country-a big picture mentality.
