Tiba; I would agree with you, if it wasn't for the fact that most of the Haitians left in Haiti will do everything to keep those Haitians outside from coming back to help in any meaningful way. Yeah, they want us to come back and spend our money there, they also want us to keep sending money to them, but they refuse to let us into any position that might actually have a national impact.
THEY MUST THINK ALL OF US IN THE HAITIAN DIASPORA ARE STUPID.
Most of us out here were taken away from our nation by our parents because of life threatening situations.
Others left because they were starving.
From what I've observed, most of those Haitians who stayed in Haiti did so because they were in bed with which ever corrupt government was in power.
After a while, very few decent people remained in our poor country.
Most of those Haitians in power today are morally bankrupt and will never allow anyone who can really help the country to participate in the government or any other national way that might make a difference.
Most countries in the world have some form of double nationality.
It really shows how corrupt and mostly how backwards Haiti is that a nation that has had such a brain drain would refuse to allow its citizens to come back and claim their right of citizenship.
Because of the global economy, even China, who previously did not have double nationality is now finding legal language to let its foreign nationals back in as citizens.
But, no no no, not Haiti.
Haiti is such a modern, well off, and fully developed nation, that it can afford to turn away its best and brightest people.
Yeah Tiba, tell me as a country, a nation, a government: what incentive are you giving to those outside to make them want to return.
We out here know that Haitians in power in Haiti will destroy us if we try to come and make a difference.
Preval and his cronies will be the first ones to send forces to destroy us and drive us out if we go back and try to bring real change.
