Haiti and the future

Mr. Preval,

I want to first congratulate you for your willingness to sacrifice so much to run for the presidency and tackle one of the most difficult jobs in the world...

I tell my kids about the country I grew up in and the wonderful stories of family, school, neighbors caring for one another...

But when they watch television or read the newspapers, they see/hear another story, a sad story...

In light of the challenges facing the country and what is happening with the global economy, I have a couple of questions:

1. what was the reason behind running a second time for the highest office in Haiti?

2. what is your vision of the country and where do you see it ten years from now?

3. One of the things about the Haiti that I remember is the importance that education played at the time, what are the major roadblocks to having the same high level of education and what solutions do you see?

4. I am not quite sure when your term ends, but what legacy are you leaving behind and what are three major initiatives you would like your predecessor to continue?

5. I live in the US and currently work for one of the larger banking institutions in the world...

In the last three years I have seen thousand of jobs being moved to countries with lower salary structures as this trend will continue, how does Haiti position itself to get these skilled positions instead of the low paying jobs we used to get in the past?
