We were both born in the US and know the historical connection between the two countries.

Before any other nation became free from European rule (following the US of course), Haiti freed itself from France.

More importantly (and this is fact look it up) Bolivar turned to HAITI for aid when he was planning his revolution which would eventually make its way throughout South America.
