Hi Lindsey; There are many great books about Haiti, but for what you need I think there is one book that will give you the information you need in a short and easy to read manner.

It is Michel-Rolph Trouillot's Haiti: State Against Nation Origins & Legacy.

Although it is suppose to be primarily about the Duvalier legacy, Trouillot does an excellent job of quickly, in very short paragraphs and chapters, detailing the period that is of interest to you, 1920 to 1930. Although there are tons of books about Haiti, few are truly well researched and documented.

Trouillot is one of the few scholars who has actually done his homework.

But more than that you will find his books to be well organized and cohesive, making it easy for you to use for your report.

Good luck. PS: the ISBN number is: 0-85345-756-5. It was published by Monthly Review Press.

Hi Lindsey. First of all, stay away from general google search for Haitian History. I have been browsing the internet since 1993 and there lots of lies on Haitian History, lots of omissions, and straight up misinformation about Haitian History. Most > >
