Dear President, The Honorable Garcia Preval
Sir, as an Haitian - American, I'm proud to say that I support the initiatives that you have undertaken on behalf of the people of Haiti.

However, I'm very concerned that you did not deliver any messages regarding the "Bataille of Vertieres" which was the definitive battle that led to our independence.

I hope that this wasn't due to a lack of respect or reverence for our national heroes.
