Linda like said I only viewed the first 2 or 3 pages before I decided to repond to this post. My apology this post is kind of old but I never nothered answering it because these things have been discussed before and as usual nothing ever came out of them. From what I read on the first 3 pages there were nothing but put-downs, and insults that strayed from the subject at hand. You excelled in this regard in most of your post. I really don't want to get into any discussions about arrogance, self righteousness, or anything like that becuse it does not answer the basic question "How to improve the economy of Haiti".

A few years I proposed that a fund be started by Haitians in the Diaspora to help in the development of that country.

Of course some might say the Diaspora already contibutes about 1 Billion dollars.

This is true but these remittances are usually sent to family members so they can purchase their basic needs or maybe a TV set, or a radio.

It doesn't make a dent in the economic independence which is what Haiti needs right now. I recomended that if Haitians abroad contributed a mere 250 dollars to this fund they would have enough money to revitalize certain areas of the country without the bottlenecks, beurocracy and strings that are attached to other forms of AID. However my idea was shot down. Haitians figured it would be too difficult to get people to participate and that the money would be stolen or missapropriated.

Chavez the president of Venezuela offered such a Fund for Haiti during his last visit to the country in 2007.

The topic is: HAITI'S ECONOMY/ HOW TO IMPROVE IT!

In these games of the " haves" against the "have nots" where the "haves" have been calling the shots, we Haitians could have evoided further domages to ourselves by swaying away from self inflicted wounds from our members of past governments with an > >

Harry, you are right about my response being harsh. However, I have very little patience with an individual who comes late into a picture and starts acting like everyone else is an idiot while he alone has the answers. Your first statement ("I've bee > >
