Well. DJAKOUT, you had said what I thought you were trying to...

Boje Lwijan says...

Well. DJAKOUT, you had said what I thought you were trying to say all along: Other people are more likely to be UNITED, better than we can, especially in matters of common interests.

& this is where, I am afraid, my friend you & many other pessimistic, too self critical Haitians have it all wrong.

I think that it is ill intended, irresponsible, & ignorant at best comparing our little country to the grandiose, arrogant, ever upset minded, United States of America.

Intelligent people will never make the mistake of sizing up our country, the land of Dessalines, the honorable WARRIOR, the true liberator, to that of Thomas Jefferson, the man who brought the so-called some of the bills of rights: "...We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal..." Yet there was an invisible line within that statement, stating, "except black people." Haiti should never be compared to the US, be it in territorial dimension, or the state of mind of both societies.

As far as the over all situation in Haiti is concerned, leadership, or a lack of it, is mainly, & primarily responsible for the ever ending chahos in our country, the division.

In any country or society, UNITY does not shine among or on a people just naturally, or by luck, similar to a Summer shinning SUN. It takes concerned leaders, patriots, some of the honest citizens of that society, in the history of that society, pressing on the importance of UNITY.

& I am ceratin that if you flip through the pages of the history of the people you have mentioned as being better able to UNITE, than our people, there'll be indications of leadership not only spelling the word U.N.I.T. Y. to their respective citizens of their countries, then define it, make it understandable to the langauge of a new born, or close to it.

This is how the existence of UNITY comes about in a country, a society.

& like I have pointed out on a previous post, other than Jean- Jacques Dessalines who tried to bring us on the same page, and whose life was cut short in the process, there is no other leader who had seriously tried to do that.

So, before being too critical of someone, try first, understanding where he is coming from.

In these games of the " haves" against the "have nots" where the "haves" have been calling the shots, we Haitians could have evoided further domages to ourselves by swaying away from self inflicted wounds from our members of past governments with an > >
