The President and AIDS issue

Linda says...

I came back to this blog because of the AIDS issue.

Someone once told me that President Preval was a drunken fool. I argued that the man should be given a chance to prove what he can do. I now see and understand what that person meant.

Only an impotent drunken fool of a leader would allow the AIDS issue to go so completely unchecked.

It's one thing when a government has a hard time dealing with complex issues like the economy, but it's a whole other thing when a government is unable to address a simple PR issue that stemmed from a disreputable scientist, who is using our nation to make a name for himself.

Flo is wrong, you cannot sue authors for what they write, as long as it is stated that what they've written is the result of their own research findings.

It would be nice if all the idiots who wrote stupidities could be sued, but that is not an option.

On the other hand, Flo is right that something should be done about this AIDS issue, and if there was any leadership in Haiti something would be. There are many simple, elementary ways to deal with this, through various media outlets, public rebuttals, scientific responses, etc. But that would involve a real leader, and at this point it's obvious that Haiti doesn't have one. And to those zealots who are going to respond to me with "well that's not the president's job," my response is "at this point, what is?" IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT IS HAITIAN AND HAS ENOUGH FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO DEAL WITH THIS SINCE IT'S OBVIOUS THAT OUR GOVERNMENT WONT?

I know that the Haitians in the US are busy hiding and pretending to be from Martinique, Guadeloupe, any place else but Haiti.

AREN'T YOU PEOPLE TIRED OF HIDING, TIRED OF BEING ASHAMED, TIRED OF IMPOTENT GOVERNMENTS, TIRED OF AN ELITE THAT IS TOO STUPID TO KNOW THAT TO PROTECT THE COUNTRY IS TO PROTECT THEIR OWN SELF INTEREST, TIRED OF A POOR POPULATION THAT IS TOO ILLITERATE TO KNOW HOW TO FIGHT BACK POLITICALLY AND SO ALWAYS TURN TO VIOLENCE.

WHY CAN'T HAITI EVER GET A LEADER THAT ACTUALLY KNOWS HOW TO RUN A F COUNTRY?

Maybe because about 80% of the population is illiterate.

But back to the AIDS issue...

I apologize for my outburst, but it's better to let it out here on this blog where no one knows me and...

ALL RECENT RESEARCHES have proven that AIDS did not come from HAITI. Haitian organizations and student cultural clubs and individuals should pay for an advertisement page or columns in all the major newspapers in the United States, Canada, and Europ > >

The Haitian Government should keep a close watch on any foreign organization in Haiti that are offering free medical care. In fact they should be required to apply for a "special license" to operate in Haiti. The government should assign a few "watc > >

That's why, as an educated Haitian man, I am very concerned about the direction of the country. It seems like the main aspect of the economic policy of our government for decades has been to wait for money from the white men. No initiative whatsoeve > >

Hi, Flo That is not an African saying; that's a direct quote from Jomo Kenyatta himself. ""When the Missionaries arrived, the Africans had the Land and the Missionaries had the Bible. They taught how to pray with our eyes closed. When we opened th > >

Even if you only have a 50 percent chance, sue Dr Gottlieb. By harrasing him with a law suit, it will prevent him and others like him from attacking Haitians in the future. Perhaps the Haitian consulate might be of some assistance to you. Try the Ame > >
