haiti economy and political demagogue

The GDP for Haiti in 2002 was 3.5 billion it has apparently increased to 4.8 billion in 2006. Yet Haiti has a garbage problem, a lack of electricity and a shortage of fresh running water.

The President can build at least one plant in each city to start with in order to alleviate those problems, then increase their numbers each year. A cleaner country with an adequate supply of electricity and water and clean roads would facilitate the tourist industry, and Haiti will gain from it in the long run. The constitution of 1987 should not be amended under any pretext.

All political demagogues try to gain political power by appealing to the emotions of the people.

They say one thing and do another.

They never keep their promises unless it suits them to do so. Haiti had 23 constitutions since 1801 when is this political bouhaha going to end. Preval would do well to consider the rights of Haitians to eat, to get an adequate education and most of all their rights to live in peace with clean water, clean roads and electricity.
