With regard to Ti Malice and Bro. LK Les faits sont la, Dear Linda, It is always a great plesure to read your post and the way you answer even the rudest of us. It shows really that we are on the right tract, starting with mutual respect, and the wilingness to admit where we are wrong.

You are entitled to your opinions based on your contact as an anthopologist with the haitian community.

You have first hand informations, but oftentimes, we have to investigate and go further beyond the anecdotals.

We have to look sometimes into the allegations, and analyze with objectivity all the facts in order to get to the bottom of the issue.

But Most of us lived the political situation in Haiti, and witnessed the bad and the good. I feel sorry that many of our compatriote have suffered from the hands of an oppressive regime.

But some of them are not telling the entire truth, some of the victims do not have the chance to tell their story.

Some people lye to advance their financial, political, or even religious interests.

I never meet someone who said "I was in jail because, I stole something, killed someone etc...

All of us tell imigration about being politcally persecuted by Duvalier, Lavalas, Macoutes, Nanphy, Avril etc...

When ever we made it to the shore, or leaving the airport, the only way we can have "some paper"is to fabricate a story.

However, I must admit there are many who truelly suffered of the consequences of "bad" politique.

If I am a macoute, I will definitely blame Aristide of persecution, and yet, I may never meet the man; if I am a Lavalas, I'll certainly claim that the pushists tortured me because of my appartenance to "Lafanmi", If I am a communist, If Papa Doc is in power, I'll absolutely accuse him of torturing my parents and killing my family for communist tendencies.

Some of these cases are true, some are false.

That would be a mistake to say there was systematic killing, torture, betrayal etc...

It would more than a mistake to deny that abuses and atrocities never existed from Papa Doc to Aristide.

Now, we are getting a little relief (Thank God Almighty).

..

All we need is a man in power who knows how to get people together, respect the right of the least to the most fortunate of us, a man with no tolerance for abuse, pilage, corruption and promote an atmosphere of peace.

May the elected president have in heart the interest of everybody, blacks, whites, arabs, bourgeois, macoutes, lavalas, houngans, etc..

Let us help in the stabilization process by our fanatical behaviors..Today, I think, we are getting on the right tract: no false imnprisonement(?), no torture, no killing by the governement officials, no pere lebrun.

But we are still dealing with some serious problems such as: Kidnapping, drug trafficking, corruption, "dechoukage" of personal properties, trash, high taxes, high unemployment rate, lack of electricity, drinking water, the exodus of our students to Jamaica, dominican Republic, France, USA, Mexico, Canada etc....

Duvalier, Aristide, Nanphy, Avril, jean Claude are gone. Let's forget about them, at least for awhile, and stop bringing them back into our lives.

These presidents have hurt the country by sowing the seed of division among us. They have, to their own shame and demise, advanced their machiavelic agenda and brought the country to its knees.

Now it is time to reclaim the "PERLE" and make it shire more than ever.
Thank you....
