I don't think you understand the concept.

Basically, the idea is to replace the standard non-profit organizations with full blown for profit organizations that is capable of producing PROFITS.

The money would go directly to the people, giving them an opportunity to develop their communities and producing extra income in the making.

Yes, if the money goes in the hand of private enterprises Haiti will have a better chance for education, houses, and food. I hope HAITI too will have a chance to make foreign aid money to use for the people in need. > >

Tiba, That was precisely the point. Take the foreign aid money away from the government and the NGO's assign it to private organizations to manage it and presumably generate MORE income from profits. > >

Brian, You're killing me, man! Don't you understand NGOs (Non-Government Organizations) mean these organizations are "PRIVATE?" That is why they are called NGOs. The Red Cross, USAID, etc. etc... are private organizations. > >
