Toulimen says...

Linda, we don't really make money in America as being members of the Haitian Diaspora.

However, one can argue that the Haitian Bourgeoisie and the Americans are making that money through Western Union, UPS and Fedex to name a few. Both the American corporations and the Haitian elites are sharing the market between themselves and we as Diaspora members get nothing.

We are broke all the time because Americans and the Haitian elites don't want jobs to be created in Haiti to relieve that pressure on us. We are the victims of the American conspiracy with the Haitian elites in Haiti.

Both love the country the way it is running and they are playing the political-blame game's accusations.

I agree with Professor Faton that both elites are ignorant.

We don't really make money in America as Rooster may have thought of it. If America can stop interfering into Haiti's political affairs we will be better off living in Haiti than in America.

We can make more money in Haiti and it is possible.

My question to Rooster is this: Why does America keep promoting bad images of Haiti when America itself and the Haitian elites are the ones creating those bad images?

I want him to answer me on that...

I agree with you at 500%. We need to return Haitian peasants to their rural areas to farm again. Haiti's priority should be agriculture, roads, education, security and the restoration of our Fauna and Flora. That's it and the rest can come later ok > >

Rooster, you say that, "MOST of the diaspora makes their money in America. Perhaps what you should say is: "Because of America's constant interference in Haitian affairs, which have caused great harm to the Haitian people and their nation, it is o > >

I have realized the same thing and that is why I hesitated to answer him right away. I have consulted with Middy and she had briefed me on the whole story before I finally said something. Petrus should clarify himself if he is not an ignorant and a f > >

Mass immigration to US does not include Haiti at the top of the list. Countries like the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Eastern Europe to name a few. In fact if US truly wanted to help, much more legal Haitians to America should have been an option. > >

Rooster, it would be nice if America changed her policy toward Haiti but that's not gonna happen anytime soon. Because the United States always does what benefits the United States. They wouldn't gain anything from helping Haiti. Take the case > >

Marjorie many Haitians don't want to move back to Haiti on a permanent basis. Rather they would like to vacation there without the fear of being kidnapped, robbed, or assassinated. But if someone wants to move back it should be that person's cho > >

Marge, i believe that the impetus for interference by America was deplorable conditions in Haiti to begin with, meaning, even if we never interfered, Haitians would be here, as are people from the world over. I wasn't trying to put anyone down at al > >
