But, I have a feeling that doublure may be a word used in French as double in certain sentences in the French language.

And, by the way, CLARITY AND CLARIFY are not much different for each other as I just checked them on dictionary and I found that both have to do with making clear to understand.

Especially the way you used it on that sentence, you definitely mean to "express clearly",therefore, both clarity and clarify could be used. TheCogitator.com
