In response to New Faces-New vision for a new Haiti, Hans let me clarify myself, I'm not saying we should use our limited resources to go after Aristide or Duvalier.
I agree that we should leave them in the past. The reason I decided to smack Montressor is because he said in a previous post that the Haitian people should pay a monthly settlement to Duvalier and Aristide, in other words pay for their retirement.
He then turned around and said that we needed the blessings of Duvalier and Aristide to move forward.
What me, Linda and Tiba are saying is, if we are going to compensate these individuals it should be with jail time, not a comfortable retirement plan.
It doesn't make sense to reward leaders who stole and murdered innocent people while they were in office.
I hope you can understand why i'm outraged.
Yes we should leave them in the past if it is what is best but Montressor is dead wrong for suggesting that we use our Haitians tax dollars to support these people in retirement.
Is what they stole enough?
And then he (montressor) had the nerve to question our intelligence.
Maybe i should be laughing but i'm to shocked by a statement like that.
