Linda i like that fact that you chose your words wisely.
In reference to your examples you used the term MOST rather than ALL. Whether it's at the high school, Masters, or the Ph.D. level the definitions of generalization remain the same.
Semantically, the word generalize has a few definitions, one is to form an opinion from particular or specific facts, the other is to form an opinion based on the greater part of a majority.
Therefore, I was correct in stating that Tiba formed his opinion solely from specific facts.
Moreover, I was not suggesting that the terms "generalize" and "exaggerate" are synonymous, my point was that Tiba used specific facts to exaggerate his argument.
In one of the arguments between tiba and P.Z. i responded to tiba and i told him that P.Z. was right to say that not all Dominicans are racists.
You see tiba not only generalized but he explicitly and categorically said that ALL Dominicans were racists.
And that argument is flawed.
The topic is: I got cut off by Haitian embassy in D. C.
