Larry, there are a some good books out there about Haiti. Try reading Trouillot's Haiti: State Against Nation. An excellent source of information. I disagree with him on a few things. But his research and facts are always accurate. > >

By the way, when I was in graduate school, I was suppose to meet with P. Farmer for a work related thing, but I had a weird car accident and didn't go. There are very few people whose work in Haiti I admirer and respect; he is one of them. > >
