Cc,
You're asking for a pardon in order to adopt a child in Haiti, what kind of pardon will that be, or that is?
I don't want to sound synical, nor being a smarty pants or anything like that, but if you don't mind me asking, did you commit a crime in Haiti for which you need to be pardoned?
Yes, presidents have the power to pardon, but only to those who are serving prison time for crimes committed.
Maybe it's just a poor choice of words.
Maybe you're asking the President to waive the age requirement, or to exempt you from the age requirement, or to just do you a personal favor to disregard the age requirement in your case.
Does that make some sense to you now?
You don't need to be pardoned.
Having said all that crap, my answer to you, is that:
1) I applaud you for wanting to adopt a Haitian child.
2) You are wasting your time by appealing to Preval on this blog because nor Preval or his cronies read the blog.
3) Even if Preval and all of his brain dead cronies read the blog, it would be inappropriate for him to respond to your request on the blog, otherwise he would have to do the same for everybody who needs to adopt a child from Haiti and doesn't meet the age requirement, which I never knew was existed.
4) Most importantly, if you're really serious about adopting a child from Haiti, you have already started on the wrong foot by asking Preval to give you a pardon over the internet, and that gives me the sense that you have not really giving too much of a great importance to adopting a child, or you don't quite yet understand the fundamental importance of a little human being, and perhaps you are NOT quite really mature yet to adopt children.
Hoever, if you feel that you are mature enough to adopt and you really understand the value and the importance of a human being, first, you need to go to Haiti, find the child you want to adopt, meet the parents, talk to the local people, find out about the adoption process as it is in Haiti, and then find yourself an adoption lawyer in Haiti.
It's not until after you've done all of that and established some type of connection in Haiti, then upon your return to the state you can start comunicatiing back and forth with your lawyer in Haiti and other involved parties.
PS. Preval cannot do anything for you in this one.
