Tiba, I could not agree with you more on most of what you said. Yes indeed, Trujillo was a self-hating Negro, who just happens to be of Haitian descent.

However, I think that Trujillo's heritage is important to black people all over the world, because it demonstrates how self hate can be destructive to blacks.

An inferiority complex which makes people of color want to be white has been the most lethal thing to blacks all over the world.

The Dominican people's denial of their blackness is sad and also scary, because people who delude themselves into thinking that they're white usually will destroy everything that reminds them of their blackness--including other black people; that is most likely what triggered Trujillo.

These types of people usually get a hard awakening when white people show them that they don't think of them as white.

Look what happened to the Mexicans in the US. For years they thought of themselves as whites.

Well, in the past 8 years, the US media has shown them that whites don't think of them that way at all. To most white Americans Mexicans are just dirty colored Spics.
