Haiti's President Rene Preval, left, listens to Dimitri Acra, right, a top businessman, during a press conference at the National Palace in Port-au-Prince, Saturday, April 12, 2008. Preval announced a drop in the price of rice Saturday in a bid to defuse anger of rising food prices that fueled days of deadly protests and looting across Haiti. After meeting with food importers, Preval said the price of a 50-pound (23-kilos) bag of rice will drop from US$51 (Euro 32) to US$43 (Euro 27), a reduction of 15.7 percent. You asked a good question Josy. While we are too busy noticing the skin complexion of Acra, no one pays attention to the guy in the gray suit. His name is Joseph Tchaconte, one of the biggest rice importers in Haiti which he sells under the Tchako brand name. Now should we blame him as well for the troubles of Haiti, or does his dark skin make it OK?
