The death penalty is not the solution

< Previous | Home | Next >

I support life in prison for kidnappers and murderers.

However i strongly oppose the death penalty.

It makes no sense to re-establish a repugnant act the '87 constitution abolished.

Anyone with enough common sense would realize that the death penalty would not solve the escalating insecurity.

First of all, how will the death penalty be applied when the primary focus of this current government is not catch criminals but to negotiate with them. The problem is not a lack of laws to punish criminals, it's the government's unwillingness to apply the law. Therefore this government is guilty because they refuse to deal with bandits as the law requires.

The haitian parliament needs to stop playing games with Alexis and requests his resignation and that of the minister of interior affairs.

This has gone far too long. Alexis knows exactly who these criminals are, because he negotiates with them face to face. Why not arrest them. Alexis is not interested in solving the insecurity he makes endless promisses to no avails.

I've said it before instead of negotiating criminals why not strenghten the police force.

Create another force better trained in urban warfare to work with the police, train more dectectives to infiltrates the gangs.

Reform the justice system and fire corrupted judges who take bribes to free criminals.

It's true Haiti is a small country but with all its problems i thought we needed a president and a prime minister who were honest, intelligent and competent to deal with these challenges.

These two figures don't meet those requirements.
