I agree with you Jojo that we need modernization, and in most countries the concept that "if people steal they go to jail" works, but not in Haiti--at least not yet. The last few times I went to Haiti (I go every three or four months to observe changes), the thing that was clear from what I learned was that when there is electricity, those people that actually pay for it don't get it because so many other people steal the power from their lines.

This has been going on in Haiti for years, and I really don't think that anyone has ever been arrested for it. Why would that be different now that we have a totally useless government.

I think RPT's idea for solar energy is great, but maybe it should be done while or after the hunger situation has been dealt with. I actually prefer RPT's idea on large infrastructure work: building roads, massive waste disposal, agricultural planting, etc., because that actually get's a lot of people back to work. If we can feed them than we can move on to all sorts of other progressive projects
