It was not long ago that the Dominican Republic took a pledge to work themselves towards self-sufficiency and they are still working at it regardless of other social problems that may exist in their country.

Nonetheless, they have managed to remain focus and are tackling one issue at a time; nobody is perfect.

One of the main thing that led to their economic progression is the respect and love they have for their land and its people, thus for each other as well as their commitment to working the land and keep it green in productivity.

Dominicans take pride in each respective provincial countryside cities of their country and glorify their fellow countrymen working the land and their government reward those land workers with incentives to continuously keep working the lands that they know the country relies on so much for its own survival.

That will always prevail amidst any governmental corruption, social and political instabilities.

Are the Dominicans greater or better than Haitians?

No, their country has gone through almost the same amount of political and social turmoils.

In fact given the history, the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Haiti share a great bond together that both nations have been going through great length to deny of accepting to be true. They both co-existed and depended on each other for economical support and it hard hard to even imagine that they both still do this very day regardless of their strong resentments and created differences.

Many would say that the Dominican Republic have settled deals with foreign white and other European countries, nevertheless they have used such deals to better their country and have gained prosperity benefits from doing so for their people.

Now how many Haitians can say the same for Haiti and its government?

It is not a matter of sell out, it is a matter of doing what you must for the very economical stability for your country.

Regardless if critics say the Dominican Republic have allowed prostitution to be the catalyst for their tourism prosperity; one thing those very same critics may agree on is that in a strategical sense it still contributes to the country's economy and with this large profitable revenue due to spending of the citizens there, they have used the money to build roads, airports, even train stations as well s they have improved on major infrastructural developments and undertaking other projects that is benefiting the country not jut for today; but in and for the long run.

The Dominican Diasporas actually are pro-active and engaging in investing into the country and send money home often.

They regularly or on constant occasions go back home to visit and improve the lives of others family members.

Their Government allows dual or double nationality citizen to take part in the Country's politics.

The Dominican Republic is not afraid to cut America off should the United States do not hold their end of their bargains in terms of aides and support; much more, they learn to know the importance of the other major latin countries by engaging constantly into diplomatic public relations with them.

Yes, the Dominican Republic has not been fair to Haiti when it comes to a lot of things as obviously there is this grudge and resentments between the two nations.

However, should this not be the area where Haiti (meaning the Haitian Government) needs address to start improving the diplomatic relation and start holding the other latin american countries accountable for not ever having invited Haiti to all the past latin-american presidential summits to start address the social issues between the two countries inhabiting the very same island of Hispaniola?

Anyways, take away the negative things we know about the Dominican Republic as far as how they have been towards Haiti and give credit to the fact Haiti could use or look upon the success of the Dominican Republic as some kind of example and inspiration that one would imagine that Haiti could use to improve their own problematic situations.

Much of the social problems that exist between the two nations are nothing more than their government lack of pro-activeness to learn to accept each other and work in co-existence with one another.
