It's OK with me if your post is long, because even when I disagree with you on some issues, I always find many things that you say worth listening to.

I shout sometimes too on the blog. I did not think you were shouting at me, but thanks for replying about it.

OK, so, I agree that Preval inherited this country while it was in a pitiful condition.

I don't remember if you were on the blog back at the beginning of 07, but those who were here will tell you that I was one of the people who spent lots of time posting positive remarks for Preval and his efforts to get security under control.

Back than, I was also one of the many people who use to waste their time on this blog posting ideas on how to make Haiti better.

Many times back then I urged the bloggers to give him a chance so we can see what he can do. I wasn't expecting miracles, but let me tell you, I also wasn't expecting him to let my people starve while he did nothing about it. Children starving while our government officials had a belly full of the best food money can buy is not something that will ever be OK with me. These days everybody is screaming about the vandalism.

Where were all these people when the population was starving?

Why were they not out there protesting this injustice, this atrocity, while it was going on?

If they did not care about the starving people, why should the starving people care about them?

Why are there solutions to the problems now, all of a sudden, after the people started destroying property, when in fact they had so patiently waited for a solution while they starved.

The hypocrisy in this is beyond belief.

I may not be happy about the people destroying property, but since Haiti is a land where its every man for himself, the people have a right to use the only weapons they have to get the attention they need from those in power.

After all, look at the results--people are now paying attention--including this irresponsible, self-indulgent, government.

As I stated in my previous post, I don't think Haiti could stand another coup, but violent protest was most certainly in order.

As mentioned by you (I think) and some others, it is true that Bush has done all sorts of things and is still in power.

But no president of the US has ever let nearly 80% of its people starve.

Let's not forget that the French revolution started because of a lack of bread.

So history supports the people's right to take out their frustration on those who care nothing about their children dying from starvation.

I wonder what you would do if you were watching your child starve to death?
