Touching on Qualified Teachers or Electricity for the mass, Linda, I did not say to put electricity on the back burner.
I said to privatize electricity distribution while keeping electric generation state-owned.
I am not putting it on the back burner.
I am proposing an effective and efficient solution.
to the electric power crisis in Haiti.
Electricity has become a commodity that is traded around the world - minus off course the crooks.
The state of Haiti needs to let it become somebody eles's problem.
Stop throwing money at a failed project such as EDH; do not even think about ways to make EDH profitable again; just spin it off, divest it. Get the cash and move on.
Now I thought education is the corner stone of a prosperous and stable society.
To get good housing dont we need qualified civil engineers, to get good roads dont we need first well trained environment and civil engineers to build and maintain those roads and bridges.
To get a steady supply of electricity, even after privatization, don't we need electrical engineers, physics majors, material engineers and what not. It seems to me we need a diversified and educated workforce to be able to meet the basic needs of the modern society.
thanks
Thanks
