Our Position is this: Hitting children with belts, martinettes, rigouises constitute child abuse.

They leave bruises, welts, and raised blisters on the skin. Coercion and discipline are not the same thing.

An authoritative not an authoritarian approach work best with children.

Abused children become abusive parents and abusive partners.

Psychological researches regarding serial killers have found that they were so brutalized as children, that they failed to develop apathy.

They could not empathize with their victims.

This may be the roots of Haitian problems.

There are other ways to discipline children without hurting them. Let us stop the cycle of violence.
