Very good Boje Lwijan that was a very good point you made, and you do write in the style to Ti Malice.

Anyhow I disagree with one small point about Dessaline because he murdered thousands of African Maroons(Blacks like himself) he was reported to have murdered 10,000 thousands Mulatres although he married one of them one "Marie Claire Heureuse" I believe.

He also murdered thousands of French civilians.

What kind of unity can Haiti have when a psychopath like Duvalier (pere) takes over and start butchering people ( again civilians were murdered) causing the brain drain of the country?

Correct me if I am wrong is this the black pride you are talking about?

Murder the elite in order to rule, turn into a tyrant or dictator to maintain power. One other small point I believe that is very important Dessaline along with Christophe both had crowned themselves Emperor and King respectively (meaning for life) while Petion was the first democratically elected president of Haiti, furthermore he allocated the land to the peasants, while both Dessaline and Christophe were trying to make the majority of the blacks through all kinds of harsh measures work at the same level as slaves for commercial farming, while they wanted to switch to subsistence farming after so many years of hard labor without pay. Perhaps that last point was Dessaline's and certainly Christophe's downfall.

Give the people of Haiti what they need the most, i.e. jobs, education, freedom of speech and expression, listen to them and most importantly stop being greedy for power, then Haiti will be able to move forward.
