I have worked and lived in Haiti for 2 years.
That was during Mr. Préval's first mandate as president.
I never encountered one savage.
I found a lot of wonderful people whom at that time didn't care if I was rich or poor, ugly or beautiful, white or black.
Haitian people touched my heart like no one ever did: I can tell you I have worked and lived ion 17 different countries for my profession (Hospitality), and so far no other country has fascinated me, touched me and got me by the inside.
Therefore I encountered lots of foreigners getting rich paying a worker 25 USD per month + food and sometimes just for food. It's an abuse.
Nobody has the right to dictate you, abuse you on your land.
When i touch the soil of Port Au Prince it's like a balm on my heart, then you drive up the nationale 1º, up to la Côte des Arcadins, St Marc, etc...everywhere on the countryside there is a person that invites you for a juice, share a meal. Haitian's doors are as open as their hearts.
Haitian deserve to be helped, but the U.N. people going to Haiti now are too corrupted: Brasilian, Chilean, they are corrupted in their own country.
In 1995-1997 the UN corps were Canadian and US militaries and Canadian and French Police and things were much different.
Mr Préval has to ask UN troops to leave or to be changed like they were at that time, for the good of Haiti.
Haiti get up and walk, get yourself together and the run, now fly over the path of prosperity, calm and peace.
