I think you are right, my brother.

With all due respect to the current administration, it has to start growing a backbone.

The government should be able to defend the interests of Haitians everywhere.

Do you imagine what the cuban government, for instance, would have done if it was their citizens working in those bateys?

The point is the image of Haitians in the world will continue to be very low until the government starts taking care of every single one of its citizens.

President Preval should raise the issue when he addresses the UN this week in New York.
We Haitians should make a concerted effort to bring the subject in the forefront of the american media.

The same way the situation in Darfur is being mentioned by every government now, the same way we should expose the inhumane situation of the Haitians in the Dominican Republic.

The question is: will we go from words to action?
