Hi Guys, I love both of your responses.

I agree on some points and disagree with some. My opinion on Duvalier pere is not based on just text, and although I read a lot of history books, I'm a cultural anthropologist, which means that my studies primarily involves getting first hand information.

Much of my non-written knowledge about the Duvalier pere era comes from growing up in a community of Haitian refugees in the US.
I want to answer both your post in further details, but I don't want to rush my response.

I'm on a flight tonight, I'll read your post again tomorrow or the day after and see if there's anything that I can add to the discussion.

By the way Ti Malice, I'm OK with someone telling me I'm wrong --specially the way that you did it. Only ego maniacs think that they can't be wrong.

Every time that I have a discussion with someone who thinks I'm wrong, or even better who can prove to me that I'm wrong, I grow intellectually by learning through that person's knowledge.

I think it was Socrates who said something about the truly intelligent man is the one who knows that he knows nothing.
