Tell me it's commentator fatigue or is it only a beguinning?
There are those times when one wonders what is the value added to the dialogue and understanding among the people of Haiti and our friends when comments on the blog sites to initiate a process or to reply to one are made. There seems to be a paucity of respondents in my review of the sites suggesting maybe, and just maybe, only a few seem to have the nerves or can afford the excercise of expressing their thoughts or responding in an open forum.
The answer I'm sure is to be found somewhere in the midst or complete obscurity to which no one I know of has a GPS. In an effort to stimulate some of the readers who for one reason or another may have shyed away from political diatribes, as such may on many occasions be anxiety-provoking or party-fanaticizing, the suggested topic of whether French is dying or surviving in Haiti emanating from Mr Pradel Charles article entitled :"Le debbut de la fin de la langue francaise en Haiti" was presented.
It's a practical issue I gather and an emotional one for the growth and survival of Our People.
To my surprise there has been only a dearth of responses in both quality and quantity suggesting probably prematurely such being a "fait accompli" or a third rail-like issue.
Hopefully this is not conclusive as it behooves me to question Mr Toulimen's comment and if such is in requiem to the french language specially in this ever more globalized world and how do we se ourselves partnering in it?
