Denigrading and underminding have been strategies often implemented to misinform, whether it be the more educated with the less educated and the local groups between themselves.
The making of irresponsible comments when there already exist tensions in the relationships of similar and not so similar peoples in and out of Haiti may be fuel to a ripened lightening rod. It would be wise to seek out pertinent information to a better appreciation and understanding of the historical perspectives of the Haitian people before condemnig them. A culture speaks of feelings, thoughts, tastes, customs, arts, education, development, behavior and so forth and so on, needing a medium in which to prosper.
We need not victimize a people for whom opportunities have been far and few in between.
That Haitian life in Haiti and in the Diaspora is an ongoing struggle has never before been so evident.
Every one of us have in one way or another been affected by the unrelenting political and natural events over the past year. We can come together and we should.
No diatrods or cooked up strategies for divisions, please.
